Program details

Venue: Amaroo Centre Grounds (Kleinton)

Duration: 9.30am–2.30pm

Availability: Term 1, 2, 3, 4

Supervision: Visiting teacher and support staff

Student experiences

  • Hone your listening skills on the Amaroo Sensory Trail through sensory and blindfold experiences.
  • Listen deeply to the sounds of the bush, noticing and responding to the sounds of the natural environment.
  • Explore how sound is made through hands-on experimentation with percussion instruments.
  • Become a sound-maker by creating a simple instrument using recycled and natural materials, applying your understanding of how sound is produced.
  • Create and perform a fun chant together, exploring how people can use sound to communicate and connect.
