Venue: Amaroo Centre Grounds (Kleinton)

Duration: 9.30am–2.30pm

Availability: Term 1, 2, 3, 4

Supervision: Visiting teacher and support staff

Student experiences

  • Become botanists-in-training and explore the wonderful world of plants through hands-on observation and investigation.
  • Investigate plant adaptations up close, examining seed pods and other features that help plants survive and reproduce.
  • Construct and test different seed dispersal mechanisms, applying observations to explore how plants spread their seeds.
  • Observe and sketch plant adaptations in their natural environment, documenting features that support plant survival.
  • Extend your thinking to invertebrates, exploring how their adaptations and roles contribute to healthy ecosystems.
