Amaroo Environmental Education Centre is in Kleinton, between Highfields and Meringandan in south-east Queensland, in an area covered by Toowoomba Regional Council.
This area currently has a high population growth-rate, with new housing developments and associated infrastructure being established. The reduction and fragmentation of natural habitat as a result of this development is a challenge for biodiversity in the area.
Amaroo itself is situated in eucalypt bushland which is used in a number of our programs. We also make use of many locations ranging from Crows Nest and Ravensbourne National Park through East and West Creeks and Duggan Park in Toowoomba to Irongate Conservation Park near Pittsworth and Goomburra near Allora.
